the good parts of saturday
Feb. 8th, 2004 12:27 amI can clean a KB without so much as disturbing my forearm. I'd been psyching myself out for weeks. I was sure I'd flip the damn thing wrong, time the knee dip incorrectly, tear off my entire wrist, and shatter my ulna into little red slivers.
I watched
mrzero a few times, went into his back yard (in case I had to drop the damn thing), and... Huttah! Almost perfect the first time, then clean after clean, both right and left, with no ill effects. My swings need refinement, and the cleans are but a gateway to the real exercises; even so, much progress has been made. I've borrowed FRWTL and RKC on video from Mrzero.
atalanta made me a couple of ergogenic mix CDs, and we dug up Ted Chiang's "Story of Your Life," for real this time. :)
Apart from that, life can stop sucking any minute now. I'd be fine with that.

Date: 2004-02-08 02:32 pm (UTC)I am sore and pained. As usual, the last gift this virus left me was that every old injury since the beginning of time hurts. All I have to do is start moving again and it'll all go away, but for now, ow.

Date: 2004-02-09 12:23 am (UTC)"Story of Your Life" is a fantastic science fiction short story about aliens whose written language indicates... Oh, it's just fucked up. Read it.
The last part applies to almost everything else.
