Feb. 15th, 2005 03:36 pmValentine's Day was low-key, relaxing, and warm.
darla liked her pile of curiously-colored roses (between light pink and peach, leaning towards peach). I made steamed tofu with rice and nori. Who knew Goya medium-grain could pass for sticky rice? Use extra olive oil.

A few nights ago, Darla asked me what we're supposed to do with lucky Chinese New Year's money. I said you're supposed to feed it to a yak, but it has to be a yak from the right province. It was really late at night, the lights were out, and I was mostly asleep. I postulated that any yak one asked ("Excuse me. Are you a Chinese New Year's lucky money yak?") would claim to be the right yak, because all yaks like to eat money. "A what?- Yeah yeah. I'm one o'those."

Dousing has cut the severity of my cold symptoms, giving me fatigue in their place. I bet it's because I'm building and deploying one multinucleate giant cell per cold virus. A little overkill. I'm blowing all my ATP napalming cold viruses and cleaning up the collateral damage to healthy tissues. I am making all this shit up. I have no idea what's really going on. Apart from this past Saturday night, I've felt pretty good, though. Just tired.
