I'd like to build a single-speed freewheel bicycle from scratch*, but I have no idea what all the bicycle guts are. I found one photo of an exploded schematic, but it's too small, and I couldn't find details on the publication:
I stripped two trash-rescue bikes down to the frame (crank and pedals still attached -- no crank puller), and saved all the parts I don't want for size reference. Sure, I know what went into making the bikes, but I have no idea what all that crap is called, and it's all stuff I want to replace with different stuff, which might be called something else.
Option Two
I could build an engine in my basement. Been dying to do that, actually, and I even picked up a nice engine stand. The problem: How the hell would I get a finished 600lb motor out of there? Might be like building a ship on a rooftop.
