I'm back.

Some people missed my itinerary/missions post a few weeks back, so they may have believed I had suddenly left on account of urgent and unpleasant family business. Not so! Go look, and you'll see.

I'm disappointed that I had no time to indulge in skin diving, but this was otherwise an excellent trip (as these trips go). The past few days have been full of unexpected shifts in perspective, reaffirmation, desengaños, and mixed emotions. The age-dependent role transitions jumped ahead. That was expected, but it felt strange anyway.

Visiting the island is always an ordeal, but this trip featured less straight-up distress and more thinking (strenous thinking!) than the others. That would be true of the family tour alone, without even including the wedding. Weddings always throw me for a loop.

Basically, my thumbnail-sized, mirror-smooth brain has been taxed heavily for six days straight. You have to be nice to me.
