Been away since Monday afternoon. Just flew home this evening.
I'm all out of grandparents. I'm doing well, and so is the rest of the family. She'd been bedridden, and fading, for 15 years now.
Next order of family business: My 91-year-old great-aunt, the last of my really old relatives, is too frail and Alzheimery to live alone, but she vehemently refuses to move. I think I've convinced my parents to take this up with Servicios Sociales, for her physical and their legal protection. My poor mother has been losing her mind over this, torn between keeping an old woman happy (but delusional) and making her safe.
I'm very relieved to be back in my apartment.
