I tried to watch The Man from Earth. I seriously, seriously tried to watch it, but I couldn't. It must be difficult to make such a terrible movie. It is worse than Incubus.

Cast Away was mixed, but there was some amazing stuff in there. The crash sequence was gripping. The oh-shit-I'm-really-stranded scene, the "extra 30 feet of rope," and the protagonist's physical transformation were all great. Complaints: "Longest FedEx commercial I've ever seen," tooth extraction was way too easy, oh I dunno there's more but I'm tired of writing about this one.

Le Temps du Loup is the Frenchest movie film I have ever seen. Jesus, people. I know something has gone horribly wrong, but do we really need to sit through entire, dialogue-free mealtimes? I actually watched this whole movie, hoping that something would happen. It was gritty. The end was touching. That's it. You don't need to see it.

I didn't make it through The Arrival. Maybe I should have tried harder, but Charlie Sheen rubs me the wrong way (unless you count The Wraith), and there was a whole lot of crappy dialogue. I'd seen this one before, a long time ago, and I remember thinking that the premise was good.

You know, most movies I want to like are pretty lame.

Anyone have a good 32"+ regular, or 29"+ widescreen, non-LCD, non-plasma (pronounced, "cheap") TV they want to unload? Mine's dying, possibly from all the terrible movies I try to watch on it. The colors are shot.
