Nice sandals? OK. Barefoot? Fine. Flip-flops have their place, but the bookstore isn't it. This is true whether you're a native Appalachian trail guide or a supermodel.
Tangentially, there is no place for Birkenstocks. OK, maybe prisoners should be forced to wear them. Crocs too.
