Seeing things.
Jun. 10th, 2011 02:17 pm1. I didn't sleep enough last night. I got a contract gig, and I was up too late doing research.*
2. I didn't have time for breakfast before rushing out the door this morning.
3. I didn't have time for coffee before heading out to crash a symposium.
You know how there are bicycles U-locked all up and down Main Street in Cambridge? Well, I saw a woman pushing a baby stroller past some bikes. She stood still for a moment, leaned forward to look at the baby, and opened her purse. In my delirium, I briefly concluded: She is reaching for her U-lock, so she can park the baby.
* i.e., Rifling through ten years' worth of hand-written notes and dusty text files in search of things I already said three years ago; finding approximately nothing; accidentally cleaning my entire office (pronounced, "bedroom") in the process.
