In this photograph, I am wearing the box in which my girlfriend's birthday gift, a large assortment of Belgique cookware, was shipped. I could not hear the ocean, but the closeness, the darkness, and the silence I experienced while inside were comforting.

Addendum: Tonight sadira and I watched Big Trouble in Little China while eating all sorts of marvelous things she made in said cookware. Chicken and cinnamon -- who knew?
