Fluffy scratched up the top of her head last night. I think she tried to chase a feeder fish too far into a narrow crevice in her furniture. She's perfectly fine, and she'll heal up in days. She just looks even sillier than usual, that's all.

She has a food pellet in her mouth. It's the best way to get her to pose. She's not sad -- just savoring intensely. For a creature driven almost exclusively by its stomach, eating must be an incredible experience.

Fluffy is a female African lungfish of the species Protopterus annectens. (There are three other species of African lungfish.)

I brought her home in a little plastic bag! She could swim around freely in a 10-gallon!
