Ever since I started this LJ, I've updated online. It's the way I did it the very first time, and I've never made myself learn to use any of the client software.

Once in a while, I lose an entry to server/network problems. Sometimes it's a big entry, full of stuff I don't want to write all over again. Like this time. I fucking fucking fucking hate that. I'm mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad.

This entry was about packing up and moving.

What's the best client?

I use the web but I make sure I copy the text before sending it.

I've also written it on a word processor and copied'n'pasted it in. Either way, I don't rely on the LJ gods to be in my favor.

I always do that, but sometimes the update takes sooo loong to get through, I open other documents and/or pages, keep using the computer, and eventually forget to check on the entry before I clobber the LJ text buffer with something else. Argh.

i usually use notepad.

if i type directly into this textbox, i'll copy paste it into notepad before i post/spellcheck.

I like Semagic, but I think it's only for XP. I do'nt know of any other ones because I generally use the website one, still.

semagic is great, and no, it's not just for XP. i love the layout of it, the fact that it saves what you're working on if you accidentally close it and that it supports foreign characters.

hate! it when that happens! :( Lately, mostly due to the length of LV posts and linking - I've been doing the cut and past thingy out of Word.
