I just joined AAA. I kept hearing about some sort of "premium-level" membership that provided additional towing distance, but I found no such option online (for my region, at least). Maybe they've found that feature unprofitable and discontinued it.

My plan to get towed to a frame shop and have the car evaluated will not work. They won't tow unregistered vehicles. I'll have to insure and register the car before I can even learn if it's worth modifying. Crap.

I have AAA Gold and I am able to get free towing up to 100 miles.

I think I pay $60 a year for my membership.

it's AAA gold. last i heard, you could only get gold after 1 year of regular service.
