1) My life is mostly pathetic and stupid.
2) A cab ride home from the Alewife stop, where the Arlington bus stops running after 9:50pm, costs $10 plus tip.
3) The Arlington bus doesn't run on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.

A homeless man asked me for change earlier today, as I entered a 7-11. He asked me again on my way out, and I refused again. "God's going to get you, y'know," he said. "He already got me," I answered instantly, without even thinking.

Dude, there has to be better public transportation options... I know that the number 80 bus runs from Lechmere, past my house, and all the way to Arlington Center. It runs every hour (leaves Lechmere at night on the hour at night -- different schedule at other times) with the last bus leaving promptly at 1am.

The 77 Bus runs 24/7. When I come home, I take the T to Harvard Station and pick up the 77 there.

Yeah, i was gonna say... That bus leaves from Harvard approximately every 4 nanoseconds. I know this because of how much time I spent waiting for the 96 while busload after busload of Arlington residents got to actually go home. Goddamn mbta...

Take the 77 home and stop at the only Tea Tray in the Sky left in Mass and get you $10 of yummies.

sorry baby, i should've given you a ride home last night. i was just in a suck-ass mood (as i'm sure you could tell), tired, and it takes almost twice as long to get to your new place :-(

It's my fault for not arming myself with MBTA Knowledge first. See, had I gone to Harvard and taken the 77, all would have been fine.

3) The Arlington bus doesn't run on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.

2) it's about a ten minute walk from Alewife down to Mass Ave, where you can catch the 77

3) that's just the 79 Alewife bus--the 77 Harvard bus runs down Mass Ave between Arlington Heights and Harvard Square every day, and it's also one of the Night Owl buses. So just get off the train at Harvard or Porter when the Alewife bus isn't running and catch the 77.

I grew up with these buses, if you have any questions about the T in Arlington I can answer all inquiries :-)

Pathetic and stupid?

Lest you forget: I am the sworn enemy of the Black Dog and all his minions.

Don't make me come up there and kick your ass.

I know I know I know. I've just had a Solid Month of Shit, that's all. I feel better today. Don't grip-pop my head off like a soda can tab.

A solid month of shit is bad.

SOW, how bad was the flood? What was the final score on destruction, and what was salvageable?

Lost a few books -- not many, and only a few need to be replaced. Took advantage of the crisis to chuck a pile of dated reference books I haven't opened in years. All clothing, towels, and sheets were saved (6 loads washed immediately -- saw the sunrise). Electronics are up in the air -- removed all the cases, presently allowing everything to air dry for a week or two. Lost cherished photos of the endangered Puerto Rican Boa eating bats at the mouth of a cave (seriously), but I hope to find the negatives somewhere. Lost some paper files (insurance, bills, pay slips, etc.), which I'll probably never need anyway. Ornamental knicknacks (bottles, shells, El Diablo, etc.) will dry. Lost some food. Kitchenwares must be washed. Lost one small space heater (I don't trust it after it's been soaked). Can't think of anything else right now.

If the TV, VCR, DVD, and two stereos work again -- we'll see about that -- the actual losses were much lighter than expected. The trauma, the labor, and the lost time at work sucked, though. [livejournal.com profile] sadira and [livejournal.com profile] rojagato were tremendously helpful.
