Something went boom at RCN, so I have no Web access at home. arcanus is out of town. RCN won't talk to us, because we don't own the account. rojagato and I are both pre-Internet people, yet we become temporarily paralyzed when denied a connection. "What the hell did we do before cable modems?"

I woke up on the wrong side of my brain. Don't feel like being at work. It's nice out, and I have a gigantic fishtank stand to build. I expect a phone call from Tropic Isle today -- "Your stupid enormous tank has arrived. Come get it." I'll need a truck and three volunteers. Doubt this will happen today, but doubtless before the weekend.

I can help with the tank as long as it's not on Thursday, this weekend, or next Tuesday.

With your connection, if you have a modem most companies offer free dial-up service to customers. Otherwise, *shrug*.

I kind of enjoyed the silence, actually.

I have 15k baud modem, but with the only working phone jack in the room without computers, I doubt this will be a solution unless lepidosiren gets desperate enough to run a very long phone cord into my bedroom. Such desperation I just can't muster.

We have the same problem with my computer (with the cord, not the modem). We have to run a long extension cord to hook up to the DSL until we get a wireless router... You'll give in once the jonesing kicks in. Unless of course work usage tides you over...
