sadira is too good to me. We got the wood for the stand.
We found the best Home Depot employee in the Universe. He agreed to precision-cut all the parts to exact length, against company policy (Home Depot says they're only allowed quick "rough cuts"). He answered my questions. He didn't give me any shit. He measured, set, re-measured, cut, trimmed... I saw this with unbelieving eyes. He refused to give me a charge slip for the labor, meaning the cashier couldn't charge me for it. I slipped him a ten. I should have given him a twenty, considering that he saved me the labor of cutting (fucking up) the wood myself, the cost of inconveniencing others further, the price and time of a truck rental. Shit, if I see that guy, I'm buying him a beer.
I didn't fetch the tank. Not enough lead time to generate volunteers, plus the whole driving/buying/driving/pick-up/driving/drop-off/driving/drop-off/driving thing would have been too rushed.
