I've found The Lost Entry!!
Oct. 15th, 2003 05:33 pmI was typing this up at work on 10.02.03, when I was interrupted by work. I didn't backdate it, because nobody would have seen it, and what's the point, if you can't make everyone else read your shit?

The stakes were higher at lunch today. I bought two muffins, instead of one, and the pigeons got all excited [Remember this -- Ed.]. There was much more bickering and jockeying for position today. There were even a few pecks.
When I was halfway through the second muffin, a full-on beakfight broke out between two betaPigeons (or maybe gammaPigeons) on the table. I let them duke it out, because had I interrupted them, they would have merely started up again on their next encounter. Pigeons need to straighten these things out by themselves, and there's not much I can do to help. Anyway, the loser finally stumbled off the edge of the table, and the winner did a little strutting dance, Soul Calibur style.
Maine lobsters display a memory of roughly seven days. If two lobsters duke it out, the outcome of the fight is "remembered" for about seven days. If the same two lobsters run into each other on the week following a tussle, they rank each other according to that last fight. After eight days or so, they'll forget, and fight again. That was a good Discovery Channel show. The best part was when the wayward Beluga whale found a lobster and poked it around, just for fun. The lobster was freaking out, and the whale was clearly just playing.
