My account is $500 bigger than I thought it was. Last week, I used an ATM from another bank, and it printed my "overdraft line of credit" backwards; that is, where my bank says it's $500 empty, that bank said it was $500 full -- just a different convention for the same information, not a giant financial fuck-up on my part.

The Shell guy groveled so much, I feel bad about badmouthing the service station. I guess he was so overwhelmed with stuff to do, he didn't even see the mistake before moving on to the next job. He fixed it, apologized profusely, and proceeded to give me very useful information about my white elephant's Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system.
