'Nuther evening in the lab. The nice Maintenance Guy installed a new fluorescent for the cell culture hood, but then left the sash open with the blower turned off. Can't blame him, though -- why would he know better? I give him props for showing up within hours of the service request. Got a Help Desk Guy to fix a couple of broken computers, also very promptly. On the less stellar side, some genius decided to either use up or refrigerate my trypsin (Er, it's in the water bath cuz I'm a-gonna use it, m'kay?), so I had to wait for another to warm up. The day was otherwise (in other words, entirely) uneventful.
The incubator I refabbed some months back hasn't exploded, and that gives me some satisfaction.
My new boss is better than my old boss, so far.
I will plate cells, then grab my copy of our data and go home to count apoptotic nuclei on a 1.7GHz P4 with 512MB RAM, instead of this ?HamsterHz P3 with 64. Yeah. Run PhotoShop with 64MB RAM. I dare you.
