Fluffy's tank got an algal bloom -- needs a water change to drop the phosphates. The 'bell beckons -- I have an urge to exert myself. No Mekanism for me, though I really want to go; I need sleep for tomorrow's interview. I could really use a nice job offer. It would feel so good to have the letter in my hand.

Mom just started to really feel the chemo last week. She's better today, and she only has three (out of eight) more hits to go. She's a good sport -- her attitude has been fantastic.

Hey! The radioactive nucleotides arrived. Gotta go put them in the hot fridge. Science.

Hell, no. I can eat raw fish and sleep. I can't go to Mekanism and sleep. :)

if you can get some flax seed, roast it with some bay leaves and then grind it into a powder and then sprinkle over her food as a seasoning. apparantly that is supposed to help with the side effects from the chemo. this is what someone who underwent chemo told me. good luck to her. chemo is really tough :(

If your mom gets anemic from the chemo (common) and they want to put her on any erythropoetin like Aranesp, make sure that they watch her hematocrit like an F'ing hawk! A too-fast rise is a great way to get a clot. Bad. So ask many questions about that if they want to do it.

I kinda doubt they'd do it this late in the game, but you never know.

Yep. They've already given her injections for both white cell count and anemia. They're keeping pretty good tabs on that stuff, near as I can tell.

Hey, where's the interview? Skin Inc?

And about those algal blooms: I told you years ago not to let your hog waste lagoons leach into Fluffy's tank.

Hm... a whole new company how so? Email me if necessary. Is this info from the Latin Mole?

I'm not sure how technically correct that is, but the company we worked for did go bankrupt... I'm uncertain if the current entity is entirely the same on paper as the old one. I'm sure the Latin Mole could tell me more.

Yep. It's a whole new company now. Maybe we can call it Skin Two (http://www.skintwo.com/)

Good luck on the interview tomorrow. And sorry about your mom. Chemo is nasty business. Still, I've seen many other people pull through it mostly okay in the end. I second the flaxseed comment. It's also easily aquired in gel cap form in most drug stores. Just refridgerate the seeds if you opt for that route. Flax seeds go rancid easily, especially in warmer weather.
We should hang out again soon to go over photo stuff. Drop me a note or a VM sometime.

it's too bad we don't have medical marijuana yet. it's supposed to help with, well, everything unpleasant about chemo, i hear. the grandma they show on the news seems to really like it.
