Saturday, I helped
eeyrg and
crystain move their reef tank downstairs, to the sound of digital cable arena rock. Their finished basement is marvelous. They fed me a delicious dinner. You know, that house of theirs, that household, I mean, is a wonderful place.
Today, I serviced the 55-gallon basement aquarium and the 29-gallon bedroom tank. Everybody's looking good. My beautiful Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps is growing like a weed.
Oh, Fluffy ate the front half of Marcus the Hemichromis while I was in Puerto Rico. Don't feel too sad -- Marcus had an exceptionally good life, and Fluffy was considerate enough to take him headfirst, so death was nearly instantaneous. I'll miss Marcus. He was a good optionally edible housemate. Bob, the Steatocranus, has since moved to the SE Asian tank. The loaches don't know Afrikaans (or even Dutch), but they've taken him in. He's doing very well. I assure you s/he doesn't even remember Marcus. Fish have tiiiny brains.
