Biked all over the place this weekend. Legs feel all noodly.
labellemargaux and
rojagato witnessed the better of my two SPD-related falls (Note to self: No stopping with weight over pedals.). I rolled up boldly on my swank Nexus-7 Cross-Check, delivering a suave greeting to the lovely 'Margaux in French, stopped to dismount, and immediately barrel-rolled over the bushes.
Me: Failure to unclip!
Labellemargaux: That was awesome.

I am almost finished putting my old road bike back together. When I finish you should come out for a ride in the country.

Date: 2006-05-02 03:57 pm (UTC)I could certainly go for a ride in the country, but you'd better bring a good book. Otherwise you'll get very bored, waiting for me at the top of every hill. I can lift heavy things, but I'm a pretty weak cyclist!

Date: 2006-05-03 04:09 pm (UTC)My first offroad ride with my egg-beaters (on a mountain bike) I tried to jump a log unsuccessfully, and fell towards a potentially impaling branch. Thru pure adrenline I ripped the entire peddle off the bike instead of unclipping. (My other foot unclipped properly)
The bike shop was a little shocked. They sent it back to factory for a free fix.
(the internal shaft of the egg-beater was still attached to the bike - so it isn't entirely accurate that I pulled the whole thing off).
Anyhow, egg-beaters are good for mountain biking otherwise.
