I AM A NINJELEPHANT
May. 19th, 2006 11:48 pmWent climbing at Metro Rock with
saturniidae tonight. The evening started off slow for me: I was feeling mopey, and two of my favorite routes* are no longer with us. However, my mood gradually crept out of the dark, and finally brightened when I came across a route named "Ninjelephant."
I've said this for years: I'm tired of zombies, pirates, and ninjas. With rare exception, these things just aren't funny anymore. However, I am definitely not tired of elephants. Elephants rule. Combine ninja (yawn) with elephant (awesome), and you get much more than the sum of the parts. Best part? The route isn't even a day old. I AM AMONG THE FIRST OF THE NINJELEPHANTS. I don't even care that Saturniidae kept calling me Ninjellyass.** Okay, I cared a little bit. I was like, "Come on! Ninjellyassephant, at least."
* 1 - My personal nemesis, which a setter was dismantling before my very eyes. Snif. 2 - The overhangy NO SMEARING climb
fusion_waste would have conquered on the first try, had he not been laughing so hard.
** For some reason, I remembered the house Kozmo account from backintheday, aptly named "Jellyass," and thought "Ninjellyass" out loud. So yeah, she ran with that one. I should work on the brain-mouth filter.
