Dad's up and about today, and he didn't even need painkillers. They did a good job in there, and he recovered well.

The Amazon Project is looking good. It's nice to pass by it in the morning, and stare into it in the evening. All the inhabitants sing HI GOD in my head.

Looking forward to Saturday night. Feels like a long time since the last VI, mostly because the last VI didn't feel like one: The weather and the Bar Lines Ball killed the turnout.

Okay, I'm having a hard time dealing with Dad's illness. If I think about it, I feel awful for him. If I think about most other things, I feel okay, but then I feel guilty for not feeling awful constantly. I need to get better at this stuff -- neither of my parents is getting any younger.

I'm very pleased with my new lens. annabelle came over on Sunday afternoon, and we got some good shots.

harlan has one of those as well. i've been toying with the idea myself...

the best zoom i've been able to find (read: afford) is an 18-50mm f/2.8. it's worlds better than the stock lens that comes with the canon D-SLRs, so it seems like it would be fun to have even faster.

I used to be that way, but then I realized it doesn't benefit me or my parents. The best thing you can do is be supportive and remind them you love them.
