I have no fewer than nineteen (more, I'm sure) password-protected accounts: email addresses, forums, online vendors, banking, and so forth. There is no way in all fuckoff I'm going to keep nineteen passwords in my head, so I use just a few, each one covering several accounts. I change them frequently, but even so, each and every time I go through to change my nineteen+ passwords, some fuckhead has gotten the brilliant idea to change the required password format on some site or another. At least eight characters. At least two numbers. No combination keys. At least one combination key. What this means to me is that, twelve password changes in, I'll hit an account that completely fucks up the whole pattern, so I have to go back, at which point I don't remember which sites I changed the pass on already, and if I did, I can't tell if the change has propagated through the system anyway.
