I can't stop looking.

1972 Buick Skylark

The temptation is immense.

(I'd remove the vinyl top, swap in a manual transmission, adjust the stance, and buy some Vintiques. The front seats would come out for nicer buckets. Eventually, I'd spring for a FI 502 crate.)

Sweet

its so frustrating
that GM, Ford and Chrysler can't figure out
why no one buys their cars anymore.

do they not remember
these blood boiling machines?
and i don't just mean muscle cars.
sweet, smooth cruisers,
practical family machines with style,
powerful cars that roared,
and everything with a real sense of style and personality.

its almost like the congressional actions in the 70's
gave the big three a lobotamy
and they've just utterly forgotten
what makes a great amercian car a great car.

we had this car in the '71 chevy malibu chevelle convertible version. bucket seats automatic 350 white top yellow body. the thing flew.

so awesome.

it was tboned in the '90s and totalled (everyone ok). it was not only a crime that the kid who hit it ran a red light, but the car, the original engine only had like 57k on it.

loved that engine, but the car did sit low. bottomed out alot over RR crossings.

It is madness! Build something cool like an electric three-wheeler or a producer gas vehicle. Then paint it to mimic a poison-arrow frog.
You will be unique instead of just another muscle-car guy.

Nope. Can't see myself as "just another muscle-car guy," no matter how hard I try. First, I'd need a HOOTERS tee...

"Just another guy in a muscle car," then.

Buick was really seen as the ones who 'got it right' in the musclecar world; their cars were pleasant to drive in that they handled very well, were usually more comfortable than a Chevy, and by the end of the game, were putting out the most power. The GS455 engine was said to be a Hemi-beater, and on more than one occasion, this was proven.

Very nice car!
