almost built for me
Jun. 27th, 2006 12:00 pmI can't stop looking.
1972 Buick Skylark
The temptation is immense.
(I'd remove the vinyl top, swap in a manual transmission, adjust the stance, and buy some Vintiques. The front seats would come out for nicer buckets. Eventually, I'd spring for a FI 502 crate.)

Date: 2006-06-27 04:07 pm (UTC)that GM, Ford and Chrysler can't figure out
why no one buys their cars anymore.
do they not remember
these blood boiling machines?
and i don't just mean muscle cars.
sweet, smooth cruisers,
practical family machines with style,
powerful cars that roared,
and everything with a real sense of style and personality.
its almost like the congressional actions in the 70's
gave the big three a lobotamy
and they've just utterly forgotten
what makes a great amercian car a great car.

Date: 2006-06-27 04:27 pm (UTC)so awesome.
it was tboned in the '90s and totalled (everyone ok). it was not only a crime that the kid who hit it ran a red light, but the car, the original engine only had like 57k on it.
loved that engine, but the car did sit low. bottomed out alot over RR crossings.
