I've never seen a more suspicious-looking paperweight. It's a tapered, clear solid glass cylinder with a rounded end. Inside is a little painted light-house, all souvenir-like. Doesn't fool me, ma'am. You should keep that in a drawer.

I've assembled a brown suit. I am not sure why. Chocolate brown one-button two-piece for $55, brown oxfords* for ten bucks, brown belt for six, all on eBay. Brown socks and tie at Macy's. Slight alterations (heh - a third of the total cash outlay) by the stereotypical Chinese tailor. I haven't worn brown in twenty years. That means it's cool again, right? Just like aviator sunglasses and tight pants? Eh, screw you guys. The suit looks good.

Finished Halo. I'm disappointed in the lame plot and the simplicity of the role, but it was very pretty to watch. I suspect the other games I'm curious about have more meat to their stories.

Medium news: Dad's returning to work part-time on Monday. He isn't back to 100%, and the doctors are still scratching their heads, but maybe that's just the way it'll be from here on out. He's no spring chicken, after all.

Several co-workers are now using "Nothing is fancy!" as a general lamentation around here.

It's Friday, it's payday, I'm out of here in 5.5 hours, I am very ready for the weekend, and my minivacation starts on Thursday.

:)

brown is awesome.

"tasty" seems to be my new word this summer.

a one button suit?
i don't think i've ever seen a one button
that wasn't a tailscoat for a tux.
what's that look like?

i've actually converted entirely to brown for the summer
so that i can wear sandals (leather).
my kenneth cole belt is reversible (black/brown)
so that was part of the motivation.

i now have two separate drawers of tee shirts,
chromatics on one for the black belt and shoes
and one of colors and tones for the brown.

while in New Hope over the holiday weekend,
i saw in a shop window
(a shop selling extremely expensive designer clothes)
a brown suit with a blue pinstripe.
very striking.

so, yes, brown is in again.

I'd never seen one, either.

what's that look like?

ah...
two button cut and sweep
they just didn't bother to put on the button
that no one ever uses.

kind of a mini deconstructed thing i guess.
clean is good.

for what reason is displaying a dildo inappropriate? because it is intimidating or because it makes men feel less useful? men sure as shit flaunt whatever they stick their dick in... even if it's not as obvious.

Settle down, Beavis. It's a paperweight that looks like a dildo. It's on her desk at work. That's funny.

I'm correcting the mentality. Dildos are funny.
Stating what she should do with her dildo is cause for debate. And I'm a righteous bitch. Who doesn't feel like using spellcheck. So nyah.

Not at work, it isn't. That's part of why it's funny.

That is known medically as "urethral self-instrumentation," and is widely thought of as a bad idea. Especially among the ER docs who have to deal with the results.

Huh. By that reaction I'm guessing that I shouldn't tell you about the time that an ER doc of my acquaintance had to remove 15 feet of baling wire from a guy's bladder...

See, now I'm singing TMBG's "Little Birdhouse In Your Soul" but with some substitions. "I'm your only friend
I'm not your only friend
But I'm a little glowing friend . . . *giggle* *snarf*
PUT A LITTLE LIGHTHOUSE IN YOUR SNATCH! ::runs away::

That means it's cool again, right?

it must be-- something recently possessed me to buy a pair of brown shoes for the first time since I was 14.

and they're pretty hot!

the "halo" books are really, really awesome. seriously. actually the first one, "the fall of reach," and the second one, "first strike," are the awesome ones. the 2nd (by a different author) is "eh" and is skippable.

Unlike what everyone else said, and what anyone else may say, brown isn't and will never be cool.

But, if it helps, "espresso," "chocolate" and "black brown" are cool.
