Went to X-Mortis. Yup, TT's is still a very lame venue for a club night. It's like trying to have a party in my basement. I guess the thick crowd of regulars doesn't mind as much as I do.
I read most of Gaiman's Fragile Things on the bus to and from NYC. I liked The Mapmaker. It was oddly familiar, kinda Borgian. (I have embarrassingly few authors to compare with.) A Study in Emerald was satisfying --
bottleimp and
mrzero would dig it. Other People affected me most, I think. Couldn't finish Sunbird: I hate that whimsical-comical fantasy crap. Can't read the poems, either.
Now I think two copies of that book ended up in this house, but I could be imagining things.
I went to NYC and Hoboken this weekend, to hang with AJ and company. I don't give a shit about boxing, but that was a really good, close fight. Cotto has a positively sinister stance. I was floored by Moseley's sportsmanship. After the fight, I bowled six Wii strikes in a row. Silent Hill 3 is better.
I still feel anxious and sulky. The Dog is a formidable adversary.
