A cat hops onto the bed, walks around my legs, and settles down against my thigh. I wake up... No cat. I fall asleep, and the cat returns. This happened three or four times. I could definitely sense the weight of the animal traveling over the bed, feel his steps, and take comfort in his presence, even while partly awake.

The cold is retreating quickly, like the other recent illnesses. I'm lucky I can call out easily. If I'd wanted to stay sick for two weeks, I could have worked through this one.

Went in to work for a few hours today, good-faith-effort in mind, and got a couple of things done. Stamina comes back slowly, though. I was back in bed by 1pm.

Never caught the second kitten, by the way. Other people were active in the rescue efforts, so I may have missed the capture. I hope Second Cat was as lucky as First.

I feel like a complete and disgusting slob. In bed with a book is where I belong.

I've found it practically impossible to keep my surroundings in order, so here's a new approach: Every week, I'm throwing out one cardboard box full of stuff I haven't used in several years. Oh, and I will resuscitate the filing cabinet if it kills me. There's no reason to have loose papers wandering around.

And fitness... Look, really, I just need energy to get things done. I don't know where that's gone. It shouldn't take a can of Red Bull to make me feel like talking.

The next time he comes back, take the time to talk to him. He may tell you something surprising.

Remember Craig and Ebay for purging stuff. YOu can build up your Paypal surprisingly effortlessly. And it's fun, in a weird way.

Have you considered trying fish oil for depression?

fish oil

Well, crap! (http://archpsyc.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/full/59/10/913) I have some reading to do, and some fish oil to buy. Can't hurt.

Best in the beginning to take it and then throw food in on top of it. If that's okay you can try taking it whenever and see if you burp. Whale burps.

Depression, inflammation, it's all tied in together in some mysterious Ass Master way. The studies are out there. Remember that I had that weird RSD runaway inflammation problem?

Anyway. It's cheap and unlikely to kill you. Fish oil did phenom things for Chisel's lipid profile.
