It must be a generational thing, but for some reason I find "hanging out" much less annoying than "hooking up" (which is used by all of the students .. you'd think they'd have a new phrase by now, wouldn't you? Though I'm a little afraid to think of what the new one might be ..)

That's funny. I've always preferred "hooking up," but I like to apply it in a general fashion, whether the rendez-vous is sexual or not: "We should hook up." To me, "hanging out" sounds like there are pendulous bits exposed.

Usually there is a good reason why two people are now exs and not still B(G)F/G(B)F, or primary fuck buddies, or whatever situation was mutually agreed upon.

I most certainly tend to find myself thinking about past relationship more when there are no prospects for new relationships on the horizon.

a) Dude, I just realized... I've literally DONE that reunion tour. It took 5 months; crossed multiple continents; and netted an interesting menage a trois to boot. By year's end, I'd either visited, introduced to each other, or had reunion sex with nearly all the significant exes. Upon returning to Boston, I then lived with my ex-girlfriend (and her wife) for a few months.

b) Damn. I should have gotten T-shirts printed up.

c) No *wonder* my friends gave me so much crap.

d) That tour bus would have some ...interesting specs.
