I did the math: the added gas charge now compared to my first few years owning my car (2000-02), is equal to HALF my former car payment, at a mere 15mi daily commute. :P

I have a bike, but biking to BC from my place would be hell, hence scooter research.

Same here, and now I need to go buy gas for the lawnmower.... which is sort of like buying pants. I have to spend money on something I resent having to spend money on so that I can do something I hate.

When I first picked it up, my Geo filled for under a tenner. Now it can easily hit 25. And, of course, it has to be filled up frequently as it has the gas storage capacity of a fanny pack.
