so I can throw out a little scrap of paper I scribbled on a while back. I was daydreaming about a stylish winter car:

1954 Chevrolet Bel Air 4-door with a small, mild V8 (283, if it can be found) and an AOD column-shift.

White's good, or maybe flat black. Cloth interior, so my butt won't freeze in the morning. It would wear serious mud+snow tires on steelies from December through March, while the Olds stayed inside.

Daydreaming is fun.

my mother doesn't like having a white car because it's harder for other people to see her in a snowstorm... something to consider.

Heh, I worried about the same thing. Screaming yellow isn't my style, so flat black, with Scotchlite Black (http://www.identi-tape.com/eng-sr2.html) reflective stripes, will have to do. ;)

That Scotchlike Black is wicked cool. I did not know it existed. Now I need to find a source for smaller amounts of various colors for Halloween costumes.
