Apart from that, it's definitely time to learn some new stuff. I wonder how much it would cost to have a few pairs of wooden club-bells lathed up, or whether I should make some adjustable-weight handles. (This curiosity comes from looking at Scott Sonnon's pricing (http://www.rmaxinternational.com/mambo/index.php?page=shop.browse&option=com_phpshop&Itemid=). Ferchrissakes, Scott -- they're sticks.)
seriously. He makes all these claims about how they're optimized and yadda yadda, but insane Persian and Indian guys have been doing terrifying shit with clubs made on crude foot-pedaled lathes for forever. So give me a fuckin' break.
MrZed has my five pounders that I made in turning class, but I have a lathe now and it's getting to be acceptable weather for me to stand on the deck and do the deed.
Really, give me a weight. I'd guess 10-15#. I'll bang 'em out; this will give me a kick in the butt to make the damn turning-gouge sharpening jigs that I've been "meaning to make" for 6 months.
