dinner for me
Sep. 14th, 2008 07:00 pmsome frozen scallops (little ones)
rotini or whatever
a handle of Stoli
light cream
half a bottle of regular pasta sauce you found
dill weed
minced garlic
rosemary leaves
cayenne pepper
olive oil
salt
fresh ground black pepper
Boil up the pasta in water plus salt and olive oil. While you wait, add some light cream to the pasta sauce*, mix it up real good, splash in some vodka, and mix again. Put some frozen scallops in a skillet, add olive oil, garlic, rosemary, dill weed, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Sort-of fry them on high heat. Put on lid on there, I guess, because lots of water will melt off them, so you may as well sort-of steam them, too.
When the pasta's done, strain it, and transfer the sauce into the pot. Put the pasta back in there, mix, and heat things up gently. What the heck, strain the scallops, too, because they'll be wet under that lid. Put the scallops into the pasta-plus-sauce, and -- YOU GUESSED IT! -- mix everything together like a grown single man.
* Seriously! It might feel like that doesn't belong in there, but trust me.
...
OK, that was good. Hey now. Maybe a little less vodka next time.
...
CAUTION: Do not burn the leftovers by forgetting that you left the stove on while writing self-satisfied LJ entries.
