I neglected to update after the last breakdown: New ignition switch and wiring, new battery terminals, 24hr turnaround time. All has been well since. Fresh Pond Mobil came through.
I see why my left-front fender rattles over bumps: A bit of rust has let a mounting bolt loosen under there, so the panel bounces around. I'll figure out a temporary fix, until I decide it's time to pay for bodywork.
Next order of business is getting the frame measured. I need to know where that leftward list is coming from.

i got my 72 Plymouth inspected there once and they told me i had to have them replace my control rods for them to pass it. i've never been back for anything other than gas (in a pinch) since.

once=always?
*shrug* Near as I can tell, they've been honest with me. I mean, they got a shit-ton of money from me, but I had them itemize everything, and it made sense. There's always a question of trust when it comes to car repairs, of course.

Date: 2008-09-25 08:50 pm (UTC)This reminds me of my Invisible Car, the grey '91 Volvo. I drove around for seven months with an expired inspection sticker. I didn't notice, and nobody notices an old grey Volvo.
