That statement is inaccurate.
We have been food--no modifier necessary--for the vast majority of our time on the planet, it's true. Not specific to cats. Sharks, wolves, bears...they'll go for human filet, too.

Now, if you wanna tell me that we've been suckers for cats forever...yeah, I'll buy that. That kitten is nearly killing me.
