My good friend bottleimp has this to ask about iPod science. My iPod knowledge is very limited. Can you help?

i wish to know this as well i think. my ipod is finally biting the dust and won't charge, and it only gives me the option to re-sync...which i don't want to do because 90% of stuff on there i no longer have after 2 harddrive crashes :(

So far my own digging has turned up CopyTrans as the best bet, but I'm waiting for backup info from online Ipod ninjas before acting.

I use Yamipod to get the music off an iPod I had bought 2nd hand. I also use it whenever iTunes gets wonky.

Grmble grmble

IClone (part of the CopyTrans suite) only gives me the option of cloning the whole damn thing. I don't have that much space left on my HD, so that's a nogo.

Right now I'm just adding my stuff via EphPod (thanks Znuh) while I explore other options. I really want to be able to drag and drop all the stuff (vid and pictures as well as music) so I can do 4.4GB at a time, burn it, and then delete it from my HD.

Next up, Yamipod, then Floola if that doesn't work.
