missions accomplished
May. 28th, 2008 12:06 amOn Friday the 16th, I hunkered down and rebuilt my Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 (now there's a name), following this excellent guide. While I was in there, I replaced the brass spool bearings with ABEC-5 stainless ball bearings.
On Sunday the 18th, I cut some plastic grill material to fit the two narrow openings along the back of the big fishtank's lids. I'd been meaning to do this forever. I've lost very few fishes to jumping, but it's never pleasant. My only female Hypselecara coryphanoides ejected in October, and that was a particularly regrettable, preventable loss. (Ever notice that the couple stopped spawning? Yeah.)
